If you’re looking for a truly effective muzzle device for a short barrel build, the VG6 Gamma 556 EX is exactly what you’re looking for. VG6 Precision brings the same exceptional performance of their original VG6 Gamma 556 to a slightly extended version that will not only do the work you need it to do, it’ll bring your 14.5-inch barrel to a legal 16.1 inches after it’s been pinned.
While the VG6 Gamma EX is tuned for optimum performance with 10.5 to 18.5-inch barrels, it works well with everything from AR-Pistols to full-size rifles with 20-inch barrels. VG6 Precision delivers exceptional recoil control as well as outstanding management of the forces that cause muzzle rise. The VG6 Gamma 556 EX is an exceptional choice for anyone who wants to maintain line of sight on his target through multiple shots.
When you control the felt-impulse of recoil you become a more confident, accurate shooter. You’ll no longer anticipate the kick, and your focus will remain down range where it belongs. You may not be familiar with the engineering techniques that VG6 Precision used to design the Gamma 556 EX, but you will feel the difference in the field.
VG6 Precision is a cutting edge American manufacturer of firearms components based in Tacoma, Washington. The designers at VG6 use Computational Fluid Dynamics and Computer Aided Engineering methods to perfect their designs before handing them over to Craftsmen who precision machine each component from the best American made materials available. Best brake I've used.

The Gamma is my favorite brake. It looks good and performs even better. I bought another for my new build after the first one I used on a piston driven 14.5 556 worked so well. Its got a mean bark but not from the shooters perspective. The blast is significant towards the sides but its not a big deal. The best thing about this brake is how well it mitigates recoil and muzzle rise. Turn your AR into a tack driver and stay on target with this little beast. Like I said, it's my favorite and when you can find it under 7p bucks, its definitely worth it.
