Match Barrel Advantages

Installing an aftermarket Glock 19 match barrel is a common modification. Match barrels, with lands and grooves, rather than the OEM polygonal rifling allows lead bullets to be safely fired. Aftermarket Glock 19 match barrels are also held to tighter specs than those used by the military. Military grade barrels are made to handle military grade ammo. Tolerances have to be relaxed to take into account variations in ammo manufactured by companies who obtained their government contracts by putting in the lowest bid.
