So you want to shave off every last fraction of an ounce from your lightweight AR build. That means you have to go with a polymer grip. Right? Hang on a minute. Tyrant Designs makes state of the art, CNC machined, aluminum grips for the small arms industry and they have a grip that weighs less than many popular lightweight poly grips.
The Tyrant LWP Grip is designed to be easy to handle, lightweight and strong while maintaining the best looks on the range. This drop-in grip is just the thing to complete your lightweight AR-15 build with class. The craftsmen at Tyrant Designs begin with the finest quality billet aluminum and use CNC technology to cut away everything that isn’t the LWP Grip. What remains is a lightweight skeletonized grip with a recessed center. It features easy to grasp finger grooves and a knurled backstrap that makes it so secure in your hand that it feels like it was born there. They give the finished piece a bead blasted finish and a hard anodized black coating.
The finished product comes to you as a beautiful, durable grip that’s comfortable and secure to hold and won’t tip the scales on your lightweight build too far. The Lightweight Pro Grip weighs in at just 3.4 ounces. Its approximate size is just over four inches tall and less than one inch thick. Chamfered edges won’t cut into your hands and its hollow body not only reduces weight but makes for easy installation too. Tyrant Designs covered all the bases on this one. Take it and run with it.
Solid Construction Slightly Small

Received and immediately installed the grip onto my SBR. Installs easy (included all hardware came in the package). The grip is slightly small; more like a standard pistol grip (small than a standard AR or Magpul MOE). Those with larger hands may find it too uncomfortable. That said, I selected this grip because of the design and a specific purpose. I will be weaving paracord through the grip to give it a textured look and feel.
