Glocks are super reliable and popular pistols all over the world. This is why they are widely used by Militaries, law enforcement, and civilians for self-defense. However, they aren't the best option for competition shooting in their stock form.

First Thing First

Still, many shooters use modified and enhanced Glock pistols for competition shooting, and one of the first upgrades they make is the trigger. The stock trigger on Glocks is quite good for self-defense and practical shooting. It has a nice weight of around 5 lbs; however, in a competition scenario, you want a lighter and faster trigger.

Competition Grade

The Timney Alpha Competition Series Trigger for Glock Gen 5 is an excellent option. These triggers are explicitly made for race Glocks and have a very light pull weight of only three pounds.

The trigger also used a Teflon nickel (NP3) sear and safety plunger, which can eliminate friction and give you a very smooth trigger pull. The length of pull is relatively short, and the trigger has a crisp break, with a quick reset for fast and accurate shots. The Timney Alpha Competition Series Trigger has a flat face for a consistent trigger pull and has a pivoting trigger safety as well.

Installing the Timney Alpha Competition Series Trigger is quite easy, as it uses all stock Glock springs and parts.
