Downward Gas Venting For A Cleaner Shooting Experience
Traditional AR bolt carriers vent excess gas through ports on the right side of the carrier, sending much of it toward the ejection port. On suppressed rifles, that often means more gas and carbon reaching the shooter.
The K-SPEC takes a different approach by venting gas downward through the magazine well instead. Redirecting gas away from the ejection port can noticeably reduce blowback at the shooter's face without affecting cycling. KAK also incorporates two emergency relief ports on the underside of the carrier to provide an alternate escape path in the unlikely event of a case head separation.
Despite venting through the magazine well, KAK's testing found no negative impact on magazine function, feeding reliability, or ammunition performance, while any additional heat transferred to the magazine area was shown to be negligible. The result is an innovative design that improves shooter comfort without compromising reliability or function.
Dual Ejectors For More Consistent Extraction
The dual ejector bolt spreads ejection force across two ejectors instead of one. That additional support promotes more consistent case ejection, particularly when the rifle is running fast, suppressed, or with a wide variety of ammunition.
