There are times when you may not want a mule device on your rifle, but it’s always important to keep the threads and crown of your muzzle clean and protected. Anyone who has ever dealt with a fouled-up muzzle will tell you it’s not fun to rethread a barrel or clean up dirty or flattened threads. The Strike Industries Barrel Thread Protector will protect those precious threads and keep them clean without a lot of hassle. The 1/2-28 thread protector features color options so you can even give your rifle a little flare if you like.
Strike Industries 1/2-28 thread protector is machined from high-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum for a perfect fit that won’t interfere with targeting and test firing your device. Its faceted exterior makes it easy to apply and remove without a lot of extra effort. Unlike some other 1/2x28 thread protectors, Strike’s Barrel Thread Protector is lightweight aluminum. It’s the next best thing to a bare barrel when you need or want to go without a muzzle device.
Temporary or Permanent Installation
If you’re between muzzle devices you can twist this 1/2x28 thread protector on and continue to work with your rifle without worrying about cutting up your threads. If you’re unfortunate enough to live where muzzle devices are prohibited, you can use the Strike Barrel Thread Protector as a permanent installation without ruining the look of your weapon.
Like all of Strike’s offerings, the Thread Protector is made from high-quality material. Strike is a veteran owned company that you can be proud to support.

When it arrived I was very impressed but it won't fit my rifle. I didn't make any measurements. I thought since it was a 6.5 Grendel on an AR15 platform then the 1/2 x 28 would fit. I will eventually put it on one of my 223 AR's. It is nicely made and very light.
