I know, something like that won't happen to me. I don't need a seat belt, helmet, or a thread protector for my 9mm barrel. I'm always careful. It's the other guy that should worry about that. Well, you never know what's going to happen. If your 9mm pistol has a threaded barrel, you need a thread protector.
Maybe it's not as delicate as your head in a motorcycle crash, but your 9mm threaded barrel does need protection. Why should you keep a Strike Industries 9mm thread protector on your barrel? Well, you wouldn't if you always kept a muzzle device in place. But, you know you don't. Sooner or later you have to clean your gun, and you're going to lay that barrel on your workbench. Guess what, gravity works every time. One drop to the floor and there goes your barrel threads. If you store your gun without a muzzle device in place, there had better be a Strike Industries 9mm thread protector on it. Or eventually, you going to wish there was.
Protect Your Crown
Your gun’s accuracy is directly affected when the crown of the muzzle is damaged. One little ding will affect the flight of the bullet. When you make a habit of using a Strike Industries 9mm thread protector, that damage is far less likely to happen. It only takes a few seconds to put it on, and you don't need any tools. The outer surface of this thread protector is designed to be installed using only your fingers. If you have a threaded barrel on your 9mm, and you don't routinely use a thread protector you will on your next one.
