The MIMTAC F3X Ambidextrous Safety Selector gives you more choices than a fixed AR safety. It comes with short, mid, and long levers, and either side of the selector can accept any of the three.
Run a long lever on one side and a short one on the other. Use matching levers. Swap them around later. The layout isn't predetermined for you.
Choose 45° Or 90° Throw
The same F3X Ambidextrous Safety Selector can be configured for a 45-degree or traditional 90-degree throw.
The 45° setting keeps the movement between Safe and Fire short. If you're accustomed to the travel of a standard AR safety, the 90° setting keeps that familiar range of movement. You aren't locked into one or the other when you buy the selector.
Three Lever Sizes Are Included
Each lever has a different amount of reach.
The short lever stays tucked close to the receiver and keeps the control from getting in the way. The mid-length lever splits the difference, while the long lever provides the most surface area and leverage.
Since they're interchangeable from side to side, you can mix the sizes rather than compromising on one lever shape for both hands.
Textured Steel Contact Surfaces
The levers use textured steel grip surfaces, giving the thumb something positive to catch instead of relying on a smooth face. That extra texture is useful with gloves or when your hands are wet.
MIMTAC manufactures the selector system using Metal Injection Molding (MIM) to maintain consistent dimensions across the components.
Positive Safe and Fire Positions
The detent geometry is designed to produce a distinct click as the selector reaches Safe or Fire. There's a definite stopping point at either position rather than a vague transition between the two.
The F3X is made for most Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receivers. For anyone who finds a standard safety too limiting, its biggest advantage is the ability to change both the throw and the lever arrangement instead of adapting your grip to a fixed setup.
