The MIMTAC OK-AY AR15 Ambidextrous Charging Handle pairs a 7075-T6 aluminum body with steel grip handles. That's worth pointing out, since many charging handles use aluminum for both.
The aluminum keeps the main body from getting unnecessarily heavy, while the steel handles add strength where you're actually pulling. MIMTAC also reinforces the geometry around high-stress areas to resist flex and bending.
Grab It from Either Side
Both sides are functional, so you aren't committed to reaching across the rifle to run the charging handle. The latches are enlarged, textured, and angled to give your fingers a solid place to grab, including when wearing gloves.
For left-handed shooters, the advantage is obvious. For everyone else, ambidextrous controls leave both sides available when the rifle or shooting position makes one side easier to reach.
Smooth Where It Needs to Be
MIMTAC uses polished friction points and refined latch movement to keep the charging stroke clean. There's no complicated mechanism added to the upper. Pull from either handle and the charging handle performs the same basic job as the original, just with more surface area and leverage available to your hand.
