Lightweight Fluted Barrel
To keep your rifle lightweight, this fluted upper receiver comes with a fluted barrel, which cuts weight and helps with heat dissipation. The 18-inch barrel is made from 416R stainless steel and carries a 1:10 rifling pattern for improved accuracy. It comes equipped with a standard A2-style flash hider, but you can also use the 5/8"-24 thread pitch to mount other muzzle devices.
Gen 2 Enhanced Handguard
This upper assembly comes with a low-profile, modern handguard. It has a one-piece design and is made from 6061-T6 aluminum. The Aero Precision Gen 2 handguard has M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, with a continuous Picatinny top rail for mounting optics. The Gen 2 Enhanced Handguard on this upper assembly is compatible with low-profile gas blocks, so it comes with a low-profile, rifle-length gas system.
The stainless steel upper receiver is made from high-strength 7075-T6 aluminum and stays lightweight without sacrificing durability. It has a port door and forward assist pre-installed, and it carries a hardcoat anodized finish. The DPMS High Profile design aligns perfectly with the Gen 2 handguard and also features M4 feed ramps for better reliability.
