Stainless Steel Threaded Barrel
This M5E1 complete upper comes with a high-quality 18-inch barrel made from 416R stainless steel with a bead-blasted finish. It's strong and corrosion-resistant, so it'll last a long time.
The barrel has a 1-in-10 twist rifling and is threaded in a 5/8"-24 thread pitch, so you can add muzzle attachments like compensators, flash hiders, and muzzle brakes. It comes standard with an A2-style flash hider.
The barrel also has a DPMS barrel extension for a seamless fit with the receiver, and it's HP and MPI tested to keep up with the high-quality standards that are a hallmark of Aero Precision products.
Enhanced Handguard
A nice handguard can instantly give your rifle a premium feel and appearance. This M5E1 upper assembly features the Aero Precision Gen 2 Enhanced handguard, machined from 6061-T6 aluminum in a single-piece, free-floating design for improved accuracy and durability. The handguard stays solid on the rifle thanks to built-in anti-rotation tabs.
The Gen 2 handguard features a continuous top Picatinny rail for mounting optics and other accessories, scalloped for a comfortable, firm grip. The sides have M-LOK attachment slots, plus QD sling attachment points at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions.
Reliable and Smooth-Shooting Gas System
This M5E1 complete upper receiver assembly features a low-profile gas system with a rifle-length gas tube, ideal for the 18-inch barrel and the .308 cartridge. It keeps the rifle running reliably by moderating the fire rate and giving rounds more time to feed properly into the chamber. The longer gas tube also reduces gas pressure on the gas key, which adds up to a longer service life.
High-Quality Upper Receiver
The upper receiver is the most important part of a rifle, and with this upper assembly, you get a DPMS High Profile receiver built for .308. It integrates seamlessly with the Gen 2 handguard and is machined to spec for a precise fit.
