Details:

The small arms industry, like many other industries, often overlooks the little things that could use improvement in favor of bigger, more expensive components. Odin Works is one manufacturer who doesn’t think like the rest of the crowd. Their designers and craftsmen know that there’s nothing more disappointing than pulling up that custom built beauty and finding that your fingers are too long, short, or fat to operate the little switches and buttons that actually make the weapon system work. For those of us who think that ergonomics shouldn’t stop with grips, Odin Works offers their XMR 3 Extended Magazine Release.

Odin Works XMR 3 Let You Change Magazine Faster

While the Odin Works XMR 3 only weighs a fraction of an ounce complete, it gives virtually any shooter the ability to drop a magazine without sacrificing a solid grip or changing positions. That’s an advantage that both practical and competition shooters can appreciate. This extended magazine release is compatible with the BAD Lever and KNS Pins. It is a modular component comprised of a mag release button, an extended paddle and a pair of Torx screws to marry the two parts. The paddle on the XMR3 gives it a large profile that makes it easy to manipulate for hands of all sizes. Its contours are specially designed to reduce slippage and allow the operator to easily depress the button to release spent magazines.

The Odin Works XMR3 Extended Magazine Release is a precision machined component created from 6061 Billet aluminum. It's available in silver, red, flat dark earth, grey, blue, or black and fits most AR-15 and AR-10 platform lower receivers.

Better quality than I expected from the pictures! Heavy duty, nice and large, and looks great! Very pleased with this piece!

I have Odin Works EMRs on all my rifles. Super clean look and easy installation.

  • Great little piece to finish off my build.

These are well worth the 20ish dollars. They work with kns pins which is a godsend.

Shipping was amazingly fast. I put the xmr2 on my build, once I have the adaptor flush with the screw an then added the extender added my 30rd mag, there wasn't any free room to push release to drop the mag because it is to close to the lower receiver. I took extender back off then unscrewed the magcatch by two spins and it works. Over all I don't feel comfortable with the little bit of thread that is holding this extender. Also, it does not function as I expected.

This is a very good quality part. It's well made too and it functions as it should. With that being said, did my rifle need the extended mag release? No, it didn't. But I don't want a rifle that looks like anyone elses either. Enter Wing Tactical. This is where you customize your rifle with quality parts that are priced well, built to last and are functional. I've ordered a lot of parts and their shipping is pretty fast.

  • Just better!

Is this really necessary...no. But does it make it much much cooler...Duh! JK... It actually is functional for shorter fingers. Super easy to install. There is a great YouTube vid out there with a nice trick for instillation. Every AR I have has one of these and this is the one I prefer. Wing tactical was great as well. I'll be back...
