The Kaw Valley Precision 9mm XL Linear Comp is the big brother of the smaller and lighter Kaw Valley 9mm compensator. So why go bigger with more weight and size? Because taming the beast sometimes means you have to prove who the boss really is. When we say the KVP XL Linear Comp is big, we mean it. The standard XL model tips the scales at 3.16 ounces and is 4.25 inches long. With a diameter of 1.4 inches, you will know it is there. The extra length allows the use of a longer handguard if the barrel is shorter than the handguard.

Field Performance

The real question is how does this work under field conditions. The answer is you will not believe it until you try it. While the KVP XL Linear Comp is not designed nor meant to be a suppressor, the huge size and the redirected muzzle blast may fool you into thinking it is. It does cut the noise level you hear. However, it does not tame the noise like a suppressor. Instead, the forward-facing gas port redirects the gas, blast and noise down range.

The Linear Compensator for Your Project

When you want a compensator for a project that’s based on a pistol round like the .45 ACP, the Kaw Valley Precision 9mm XL Linear Compensator fits the bill perfectly. The Kaw Valley Comp will provide the muzzle management you’re after without adding too much weight to the package. It’s perfect for the shooter who wants quality muzzle management for a carbine, PCC or AR-Pistol build.

Quality Construction, A Little Longer

Kaw Valley worked hard to keep the weight down. The comp is made from 6061 Aluminum instead of steel like many muzzle devices on the market. This also means the XL comp can only be used in pistol cartridges. It is not suited for centerfire rifle ammo. If you need a comp suited for a centerfire rifle, please look to the other offerings. Its precision machined to provide quality muzzle control and it looks great doing it. This Comp is a little longer than many of its competitors, so it’ll help you fit your short barreled build to longer handguards.

This comp is huge so be sure to read the description carefully, especially if you need it to fit in your handguard. Great product though and it really does its job at redirecting the sound forward and manages to look awesome in the process.

Love the looks, function, and price. My only complaint is how the attaching end slims down but great overall.

This is the second Kaw Valley Comp I purchased from Wing Tactical. The service and delivery speed from Wing Tactical has been excellent. I purchased a Extar EP9 pistol and the XL Slim model I bought helps blow the gases and sound blast forward away from ears and face. Plus it looks cool.

  • Linear Comp

Bought this linear comp for my Kel-Tec sub 2000 for the purpose of reducing recoil. Great attachment, easy to put on, and handle 500 rounds without coming loose.
Reduced recoil by maybe 20% shoulder wasn't sore the next day. Plus I didn't have to spend more money for other accessories to handle recoil and muzzle rise. Plus the slim comp flows great with the slim barrel.

  • Awesome compensator

“Love it” looks great I do have to use hotter ammunition to get the slide to lock back on the last round but that’s ok this thing is worth the money. Works great at the range for the people standing beside you. Reduces flash just as advertised. I would buy it again

  • Great adaptation!
