Strike Industries EMP for Shield

Details:

There’s good news for those of you who have seen the Strike Industries EMP Magazine Extension for the Glock 42 or 43 and wanted one for the S&W M&P 9 and .40 Shield. Strike Industries now brings the M&P Shield Extended Magazine option to the market for these S&W favorites too. Enjoy improved grip and greater magazine capacity without sacrificing the look or continuity or feel of your favorite sidearm when you add on the SI EMP.

Enhanced Ergonomics

The Strike Industries Enhanced Magazine Plate for the S&W M&P Shield extends the total grip length of your 9mm or .40 caliber S&W M&P Shield. Larger hands find a comfortable grip they’ve never had before. No more pinkies hanging off the grip in midair. With the SI M&P Shield Magazine Extension, you’ll have a full hand grip and more balanced control than ever before.

Expanded Magazine Capacity

The extended length of the SI Enhanced Magazine Plate will allow the 9mm shield to hold two additional rounds while the .40 gains one. The EMP is compatible with extended length and standard factory magazines. Installation is simple using the included locking plate and screw Strike provides, you can then turn your standard mag to an M&P Shield Extended Magazine.

Quality Craftsmanship, Flawless Look, and Performance

Strike Industries creates the extended grip surface of the M&P Shield Magazine Extension from an impact resistant polymer and then textures the outer surface to match the Shield’s grip pattern, providing the shooter with flawless continuity of grip. The EMP matches the original grip well, making it an unobtrusive addition to your handgun. Its size is just right to provide the extension you need without interfering with concealment no matter how you carry.

The EMP for M&P Shield 9mm is a very simple yet essential upgrade for the weapon. Though it may slightly increase the profile when (depending on how) carrying concealed, it still offers more capacity while maintaining the minimal size possible. The design and finish of the polymer is amazingly similar (almost identical) to the manufacturer's, giving the product a higher quality. The magazine sits just as flush with the EMP as it does with S&W's floor plate. Installation was easy, and the cost of the product is good too. I recommend this product.

Ordered two - and both have performed flawlessly. Yes there is a slight gap at the base of the extension - who cares - if you are that concerned with aesthetics - maybe you should take up interior decorating. Pretty doesn't always equal functional - I think these look great, if you have larger hands, these feel solid and comfortable in the hand - having added extra lead to throw downrange, they are still easily concealable, and mesh well with the overall design.

Do not buy. I bought two of them for my shield 9 and the first one the plastic piece inside broke off before the set screw would snug up. And both of them leave a large gap between the emp and the bottom of the mag well of the gun. Both were installed on 7rd mags, when installed on 8rd the factory follower doesn't go all the way down to the emp. Emailed both wing tactical and spike and neither will respond

  • Poor quality and fit.

Doesn't work with the factory extended magazine and while tightening one of the set screws on one of the three I purchased the plastic set screw stop broke off so the screw now has no backing to tighten up against. When installed on the short magazine and installed on the pistol there is a larger than normal gap between the magazine and the pistol grip.

  • Functional, but not perfect

The Strike Industries M&P Mag extensions were Easy to install and functional. After loading and reloading about 400 rds, thru two mags one seven round OEM, and one 8rd OEM, both performed flawlessly. On the 8rd mag because of the tension, it left a fairly large gap between the grip and mag which made it look odd, but still very much functional. On the seven rd mag less of a gap, but still a noticeable one. I don't think it left room to pinch your hand, but I could see it happening when inserting the new magazine.
