Strike Industries Sidewinder BUIS

Details:

Generally, when you describe someone as a “Jack of all trades” it follows that we’re talking about “a master of none.” This time, that’s dead wrong. The Strike Industries Sidewinder is a backup iron sight that can be used as a left or right 45 degree offset sight, as an inline co-witness sight set or as a backup you can use with optics in place in close quarters battle situations. If you need an offset AR sight, this is the one.

More Than Just A Offset Iron Sights

Strike Industries Sidewinder Iron sights are more than just a simple offset AR sight, they can play the role of any iron sights you need them to. If you need a 45 degree offset sight you can use the Sidewinder mounted on either side of your system with no penalty to performance. The Sidewinder setup uses the Strike Industries Ambush mounting system which allows them to clear even the largest optics so you don’t have to remove your glass to go to iron sights in a hurry. This makes the Sidewinder Sight set a perfect option for operators who find themselves moving from ranged shooting scenarios to close quarters battle with little transition. When used as a co-witness sight, the Sidewinder gives a foolproof second sight line on your target.

Offset Sight to Co-Witness Sight

When used as an inline sight, the Strike Industries Sidewinder makes a fine traditional iron sight as well as an awesome option for those who need a backup for a red dot sight. The Sidewinder makes a fine lower 1/3 co-witness sight with standard A2 height sights and isn’t likely to get caught up in snags and cause grief in the field. The inclusion of dial adjustments for tool-free adaptation for windage and elevation is a feather in the Sidewinder’s cap. We agree with Strike, it’s a “Jack of all trades without compromise.”

I have been looking for a 45 angle sight for left handed shooters, this one came up. I haven't used it shooting yet but can say that the flip up retention is very weak; just wouldn't hold up if a hard wind blew on it! I think the rention part will be easily worn with light usage and wont keep the sight in a upright position after a few usages. If this is a design flaw, I can accept that but this set was relatively inexpensive and im more inclined to say this set is in the " you get what you pay for" category.

The guys at strike industries have done it again. This offset site was a pleasant surprise in terms of the unique co-witness and offset versatility in the design. Adjustments are easy and the ability to fold it away or into co witness position in front of my red dot is genius. Fit and finish are awesome as are most things from Strike Industries. These guys get it right. You won't be disappointed.

Sighted these sidewiders over the weekend and they work just as described. I was a little sceptical at first because it doesn't look like they would align quite to center to the barrel or co-witnessed the sights but they did and I was very happy with the grouping at 50 yards. The one thing I should mention is that they do not have a smaller rear sight hole for more accurate shots like most other back up sights. However if they are only back up sights then you are good to go. They maneuver very well around the optic that I have on my AR. I also like the cosmetic look that they give to the AR as well.
