The FATman Hex Brake by Phase 5 features two large ventilated baffle sections and chambers. The two top ports of the FATman are machined at a 20-degree forward angle. These ports redirect the energy of spent gas to enable accurate and rapid follow-up shots.
Muzzle brakes are designed to help combat the negative effects of recoil and muzzle rise. Precision shooters and those who participate in shooting competitions will understand the need for as little recoil and muzzle rise as possible.
The effectiveness of a muzzle brake is based on Newton’s Third Law of Motion: “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Muzzle brakes redirect the gasses generated by firing the rifle in a downward motion. Because the muzzle of a rifle rises when the gun is fired, the downward force created by the muzzle brake helps make muzzle rise less noticeable to the operator.
The manufacturing process of the FATman Hex Brake by Phase 5 allows the first chamber of the brake to sit close to the barrel crown. This prevents the muzzle brake from decreasing the accuracy of the barrel, making it ideal for precision shooters.
The FATman features a Mil-Spec black parkerized finish to provide protection from corrosion, nicks and scratches. The muzzle brake arrives with one crush washer to facilitate easy installation. The FATman Hex Brake by Phase 5 will fit on muzzles thread of ½ x 28 TPI (threads per inch).
