Details:

The BCMGUNFIGHTER Charging Handle is the result of a long-term exchange of information and collaboration between Bravo Company MFG, Inc. and trainers and weapons systems operators who recognized the need for a change in how charging handle and extended latch components operate in the real world.

BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle for Modern CQB Operator

Modern close quarter battle techniques call for the operator to rack the weapon’s charging handle using their support side hands, while the trigger hand remains in place, allowing for an immediate return to active battle without the delays caused by old style two-handed charging operation.

The addition of extended latches to tactical weapons has added efficiency to this maneuver, but there is a cost. An inordinate amount of stress is placed on the weapon’s roll pin. A 1/16-inch pin was never designed to take such punishment and failures had become a repeated problem. With a broken roll pin, the latch is broken and the charging handle is unsecured. That can easily prove to be a deadly failure in a firefight.

Why BCM Charging Handle?

The innovative design of the BCM Charging Handle is intended to protect the delicate roll pin by directing the force of charging maneuvers into the body of the handle instead. In this redesign, a built in backstop has been added to the extended latch and charging handle so that travel is restricted enough to relieve stress from the roll pin and into the handle itself.

In addition to reducing system failure due to broken roll pins, the redirection of force into the charging handle also produces a much smoother operation as the handle moves directly backward instead of angling off to the side.

The BCM GUNFIGHTER Charging Handle with extended latch system is available in two models: the Mod3 is offered with a large latch and the Mod4 a medium latch. Choose the model appropriate for your application and rest assured your weapon system is safe from roll pin failure when charging.

The BCM Charging Handle is manufactured from 7075 T6 billet and finished with a Mil-Spec hard anodized coating. This charging handle is not recommended for use with carrier groups that feature an adjustable gas key.
