When you need a new AR-15 dust cover, you’ll find that there are a few choices on the market. Unfortunately, they’re not all created equal, so it’s important to choose the ejection port cover that best fits your system. Many shooters would like to use custom dust covers but find that much of what is on the market isn’t what they had in mind. If you need an AR-15 dust cover and you’d rather not have a polymer version, the Strike Industries AR-15 Aluminum Ultimate Dust Cover just might be the one for you.
It’s not Flashy, It’s Purpose Built
While other manufacturers’ focus on style when they produce custom dust covers, Strike industries dust cover is more about substance. These aluminum dust covers are furnished with the spring and pin needed for installation. This dust cover is designed with an adjustable set screw that allows the user to make corrections for a worn receiver. If you prefer a lighter or stronger opening tension, the adjustability of the Strike Industries Dust Cover allows you to fine tune tension. You’re not at the mercy of production spring tension anymore. The cherry on top of the UDC is Strike’s patent-pending padding that gives you near silent operation instead of the standard clanking ejection port cover.
From the integrated detent screw to the hearty aluminum cover itself, the Ultimate Dust Cover is designed in the U.S. and manufactured from quality materials you can count on. It’s given a high tech CED coating that’s finer and more durable than traditional finishes. Sleek, and quiet, the Strike Industries Ultimate Aluminum Dust Cover takes care of business without calling attention to itself and that’s just what you need.

This was the last thing I replaced on a stock PSA AR. With the usual Magpul and Strike Industries upgrades, the original dust cover just felt out of place and chintzy. This was a nice finishing touch and ridiculously easy to install.
Great idea done well

Why didn't somebody think of this sooner? I love being able to remove (or if necessary replace) the ejection port cover without removing the handguard and possibly barrel nut. I also like that it comes with bumper pads to silence the "click" when it pops open - great idea on a rifle used for hunting. It works great on my Anderson upper, and it at least appears that the design and the inner lip is likely a little more effective than the original at keeping crud out when closed. Don't know if what would recommend the aluminum over the plastic one, but it sure looks awesome and since they're so easy to change you could get both and run whichever one you feel like that day!

These things are awesome, breeze to install/remove and look killer. To top it off they are super quite with bumpers installed.

This is a very well built, great looking dust cover. It's super easy to install or remove without the need to remove the handguard. I installed this on and m4e1 aero upper it does not fit without modification as stated in the description, just have to remove a little aluminum around the hinges on the dust cover or the upper. You can also adjust the retention of the cover. It realy is ultimate! Needed probably not but for 20 bucks why not,it looks great to me " I purchased the standard plain one".
Very nice upgrade

Cover is all that it says it is, but the CED finish looks gray compared to the black finish on most uppers and lowers. Dissapointing to me
Nice and easy

Not sure what the other reviewers were talking about, but after a decade of serving with the metal predecessor, and another decade of building ARs, I love this piece. Also have several of the polymer ones, but this is better. With the added rubber pieces, btw it comes with a replacement set as well, you don’t get the click sound. Install is beyond easy, and it looks clean. Saw a lot of these at Shot Show. Plus, Wing Tactical sends it out pronto. Ordered Wednesday, had it Saturday. Oh, and a veteran/LE discount.
Leaves a gap around ejection port
Posted by Joe on 23rd Jan 2018
Purchased for my Aero Precision upper reciever. This was a lot easier to install compared to a mil-spec dust cover. Finish is great. Looks good too. I like the small rubber pads on the outside because they provide for a quiet and blemish-free opening instead of a loud clap against the upper reciever. The cons for me are that when it is closed there is a small gap all the way around the ejection port where it would do a poor job of keeping sand and debris out. The other con is that the detent is awfully tight and digs into the top of the ejection port when closing/opening, I'm hoping it will loosen up over time.
Looks great but feels a little cheap..

I will only remove 1 star for the cheap feel of it as I have not taken it to the range yet, but as of now it does seem a bit on the cheaper side. I feel myself longing for that tactile "click" when closing it but I suppose it could be something that is easy get used to.
Other than that, it looks amazing! Also install was easy as pie, I wish my last dust cover were this easy to install!
