Details:
The Breek Arms Sledgehammer Omni-Buster AR-15 Charging Handle is designed for shooters who want better gas control without a bulky charging handle. It uses three built-in gas-management features to help reduce the blowback that can come through the rear of an AR-15 upper, particularly when shooting suppressed.
The Omni-Buster works with both suppressed and unsuppressed rifles. Its ambidextrous layout also makes the gas-management design useful for left-handed shooters, who can be especially exposed to gas escaping around the charging handle.
Three Ways to Manage Escaping Gas
Breek Arms didn't rely on a single raised lip to deal with blowback. The Omni-Buster uses three separate features:
- Raised Rear Shelf: Creates a barrier at the back of the upper receiver to help block gas traveling toward the shooter's face.
- Internal Stem Baffling: Slows expanding gas as it moves rearward through the charging handle area.
- Optimized Stem Geometry: Provides a path for excess gas to be redirected away from the shooter.
These features are built into the charging handle itself. There's no separate gas-blocking accessory to install.
Ambidextrous Serrated Latches
The Omni-Buster measures 2.59 inches across the latches, giving your fingers a solid gripping surface without going to an oversized handle design.
Both latches are serrated and can be operated from either side. That comes in handy with gloves, larger optics, or when reaching the charging handle from an awkward position.
7075-T6 Aluminum, Just 1.1 Ounces
The main body is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish. It's a durable combination commonly used for quality AR components, and the Omni-Buster weighs only 1.1 oz.
For a charging handle with ambidextrous controls and internal gas-management features, that's a relatively light package.
It's also made in the USA.
The main reason to choose the Omni-Buster over a standard charging handle is its approach to gas blowback. You still get a familiar ambidextrous charging handle, but with a raised rear shelf, internal baffling, and revised stem geometry working together to manage escaping gas.
