Each armorer likes to do things his own way. That rule applies to everything, including the application of muzzle devices. While some guys like muzzle lock nuts, others prefer to use crush washers, peel washers, or shims to position the muzzle devices they apply. Spike’s Tactical Muzzle Device Alignment Shim Kit is an alternative to the peel washers that ship with many suppressors and muzzle brakes.

Spikes Tactical 5/8x24 Shim Kit

When you add a muzzle device to your build you have to time it correctly for the best possible performance. Correct timing assures that the baffles that redirect gasses produced on firing are facing the correct direction to do their job as intended. Spike’s Tactical’s Muzzle Device Alignment Shim Kit includes a total of ten alignment shims in three different thicknesses. Each different size of shim allows for a different adjustment in the rotation of an applied muzzle device. This shim kit is designed to work with standard 5/8"x24 thread barrels.

One large shim is included in this kit. The large shim will give ½ of a rotation of adjustment or it can be used to properly space barrels that feature relief cuts. Eight medium shims each manage 45-degrees of rotation. Spike’s small shim offers a smaller increment of adjustment so you can fine tune your brake installation for the best possible performance. Maybe you were locked in perfectly, but need to adjust your brake to compensate for twist when you fire. Choose the right combination of alignment shims to aim your baffles where they will keep your shots on target every time.
